Marine Desert by Zabet & Medusae

Anza-Borrego Desert, 2010

Six million years ago the Anza-Borrego Desert was underwater. Part of the Gulf of California, the tropical region was home to a diverse array of marine plants and animals. Marine Desert is a natually disappearing series of charcoal drawings by artists Zabet & Medusae. The drawings depict marine organism such as fish, eels, squid, coral and manatees, referencing the geological history of the work's location.
